Name: Abigail "Abby" James
Age: 25
Species: Human
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 135 lbs
Family:
-Father -- John James
-Mother -- Lena James
Partner(Spouse/Significant Other): None at the moment
Children: None
Hair Color: Chocolate brown
Eye Color: Grey
Build: Lithe and athletic
Other Traits:
She has various scars, but the most noticeable is a large scar that runs up the outside of her right thigh to the top of her right hip
Appearance:
Abby has long, thick, curly chocolate brown hair which she usually wears in a loose, waist-length braid slung over her left shoulder. Though she’s lithe with toned muscles, her large gray doe eyes give her a sweet vulnerability, which she uses to her advantage. Her olive skin gives her a slight tan throughout the year and she has a wide, disarming smile. She moves with natural grace on her long legs, clearly confident in her own skin. Her sense of style is coy, preferring to wear form-fitting clothes that still leave plenty to the imagination. Most often she wears dark colors to blend with the darkness, or neutral colors that allow her to blend into a crowd. She always wears leather boots and never goes anywhere without a silver necklace bearing a single, tear-drop amethyst pendant. Additionally, she’s always armed with a cutlass at her left hip and a dagger on the right.
Personality:
Quick to anger and stubborn, Abby is also quick to forgive those she cares for. She needs time to warm up to people she doesn’t know, which can often mislead people into thinking she’s aloof. But if she gets to know someone, she reveals a witty, energetic, and slightly ditzy personality. As an assassin, though, she is a proficient actress and can easily slip into other characters—most often slipping into timid, charming or seductive characters to disarm those who might suspect her. At her core, she is a hardworking, energetic, loyal, and caring person. It just takes the right person to find that in her.
Relationships:
None yet, but looking for some!
History:
Abby was her parents’ miracle baby. They had given up hope of having children after ten years of marriage and six miscarriages. But at last, Lena was able to give birth to a healthy baby girl. Abby was showered in love from the moment she entered the world. Growing up, she was happy and vivacious, always exploring the woods outside the small town she grew up in or playing with friends. When she was seven, her father began teaching her to become an apothecary like himself. She was a fast learner, already imbued with a passion for nature and a need to be in the sunshine. Her family wasn’t rich, but they were comfortable. Life was damn near perfect. Until she was fourteen…
Her town was caught between warring nations, lying directly in the path of an invading army. The soldiers decimated everything in their wake, wiping entire villages off the map in their brutal campaign. Both Abby’s parents were killed along with most of those she grew up knowing. Abby killed her first men during that attack in a desperate bid to save herself from being raped and murdered. One of them managed to bury a small dagger in her thigh, dragging it up to her hip, leaving her with a serious wound and a deep scar to remember him by.
When her kingdom’s army arrived in the town, it was far too late. Abby had been living among the ruins of her home, burying the dead she could find, when one of the army’s number stumbled upon her. Only seeing he looked like a soldier, she attacked the man, believing it was one of the enemy soldiers come back to pick through the ruins of the town. It turned out the man was the leader of a band of mercenaries in service to the army. His name was Henry, and while he easily overcame her amateur attacks, he was impressed by her raw talent and clear intent to kill.
Abby became Henry’s protégé, rising among the mercenaries’ ranks and finding peace in killing soldiers like the ones who destroyed her life. But while Henry took great pride in Abby, he knew her talents could be honed even further, especially with her sharp mind, agility, and ability to move between different groups of people. He recommended her to an old friend, an assassin by the name of Robert.
Since joining Robert, she has become a talented assassin. Her ultimate goal is to kill the men responsible for killing her parents. She knows they too were mercenaries and has spent every possible moment learning their names and whereabouts. As an assassin, she does what she can on each job to get closer to her goal, whenever possible. She is driven by her desire to avenge her parents, but finds it hard to reconcile her need for revenge with her natural instinct to care for and protect the few loved ones she still has.
Items of Interest:
Abby’s father was an apothecary, so she has a vast knowledge of both poisonous and healing herbs and makes her own poisons and medicines. She sells these wares on occasion for additional money, but mainly relies on her profession as an assassin to keep her purse full.
